Since 1863 when Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of “Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens “, American families have been gathering around the dinner table in communion with gratitude. With Thanksgiving around the corner it is natural to drift into a state of reflection on this precious gift of sobriety we have been given. No matter how long it has been since we entered recovery, it should not be lost on us the freedom we have been granted by God’s grace from that sinister malady of alcoholism.
The Sanctuary family is no different. As this joyous occasion looms on the horizon we at the Sanctuary are preparing to come together as a community and give thanks for the gift of sobriety and the wonderful community we have here at the Sanctuary. Dinner will be served, football will be watched, and tryptophan naps will be taken in gratitude for all that we have been given. So from the Sanctuary family we wish you a very happy Thanksgiving.Pages:
